So What If It's an RPG World?

Volume 10, 4: Trench Warfare

Volume 10, Chapter 4: Trench Warfare

Even if you are injured inside the battle barrier, it will prevent most fatal wounds and apply healing magic.

But if your throat was slashed it would still be difficult to be saved.

“Oyado~ I thought I said that she should have a chance to fight. How else is she going to discover her weaknesses and improve?”

“Eh? But I only used 70% of my maximum speed.”

“Use 40% next time.”

“Got it~”

When she said that Oyado rolled onto the ground and happily ran back to the other side.

“Ok big sis Melody, let’s do that again.”

But now when I look at Melody, she has started sweating. The confident look she had before is gone and there is an empty feeling to her gaze......

Yeah. It’s the look of desperation. Oyado has played too much and has scared silly all of the other students on the first day. Really. She’s going to become an avenger and just a moment ago she was touching her neck in fear. There is too much of a contract even if you were pretending to be moé.

It can’t be helped. With this sort of depression I need to give her a bit of stimulation.

“I have to say.”

I whispered in her ear.

“At your level and state, who do you think you can avenge? You can’t even defeat a small child......why don’t you just die here?”

“What did you just say!”

Her eyes revealed her emotions. Swinging her sword, she slashed at my face. I summoned an ice shield to block. The sword bit straight into the shield but I didn’t take a direct hit due to the angle.

At the same time I took a shot at the hand holding the magic guide book. The book flew out and I accelerated behind her to catch it. A freezing light shone on her sword covering it in ice. With the back of my hand, I fired three ice arrows to shatter the ice and the sword inside of it.

“Alright Melody, let’s stop here for today.”

I looked at her and spoke calmly.

“You can’t fight at your own level. Just go back and calm down. Think of what sort of fighting style best suits you and then come back.”

“I......understand. Thank you.”

She nodded and put her weapon away.

“Teacher, you didn’t draw your sword at all. I really wanted to see your swordmanship. Perhaps there will be a chance next time.”

“That will be pretty hard for me.”

I shrugged.

“I am not that good with the sword.”

Melody gave a noncommittal laugh and left the field.

I looked at the rest of the class.

“Does any one else have questions?”

Everyone took a step back.

“Please don’t joke teacher.”

Hart replied.

“We are the strongest in the class......no, the strongest is your sister now. So you’ve just beaten the former strongest student in our class but you say that there is someone that can beat you.”

“Un, that’s right. There’s that setting. Would you like to like to have a match with Oyado at 40%?”

“N......no.”

He quickly waved his hand.

“Anyways, how long have you been in class?”

“Eh? Here? I’ve been in this class since school started.”

“Is that right......”

It seems I misjudged him. I thought he was here for the two from the Marshall family. Could it be that I misjudged him?

It just bad luck.

“It seems you are the only one who has been here for a long time. What are your thoughts on why there are only 17 people in this class, and it has......such a bad character.”

‘It seems that you hadn’t heard of our reputation before you took this class.”

“Nothing about your reputation. All I knew is that you had your first two combat instructors run away.”

“You are wrong to accuse me of that. I had nothing to do with it.”

He said innocently.

“You should know that Melody had won against the previous two.”

“Is that right......”

I nodded.

“Anyways, the training class hasn’t been going for a long time so we can’t end it so early, right? How about this, Leon and Mabel will fight each other. I need to know your strength if I am going to teach you like I had promised, so now is the time to show your abilities.”

The two of them looked at each other, stood up, and walked to opposite sides of the battle barrier.

Leon took out a magic guide book and a sword while Mabel took out a crossbow.

But Mabel isn’t a magic tool user......ahhh, I’ll see soon enough.

I activated the battle barrier and announced the start of the battle.

But the two of them just stared at each other. It looks like both of them wanted the other to make the first move.

Oh my god. Do you think you are in a martial arts drama? In a showdown?

The thought had just popped into my head when I saw Mabel fire an arrow straight at Leon’s chest! But Leon stayed calm and easily blocked the attack before rushing over.

But Mable threw three potions at Leon with a light wave of her hand.

Leon quickly stopped like he had seen a ghost and dodged to the side. The tubes broke at the same time and three ice flowers bloomed in their places.

If the test tubes had broken near Leon he would have lost......

It seems that the magic crystals were fixed into magical formations? It’s a way to quickly use magic but......

The carrying limitations is a problem compared to the magic guide book......

That’s not right. Those two are rich, they should have storage rings......

Done talking, Mabel gave a slight smile. Watching Leon, she held four test tubes in each hand. When Leon saw the tubes in her hand he flipped open the magic book.

But just as he looked down, two red test tubes flew past Leon. Leon lifted a hand and the tubes were blasted down by a barrier of swirling winds. Just after that the barrier was engulfed in flames

But because of the barrier, the flames were quickly extinguished. When I saw the two rich kids unafraid for their lives in there...... I realized that this was a fight to burn money.

All sorts of magic test tubes and the magic guide book made it look like fireworks.

“You......Stop this now!”

I couldn’t help but to shout.

“It’s shameful to waste money like this!”
