Little Tyrant Doesn't Want to Meet with a Bad End

Chapter 646.2: Overcoming the Quandary (2)

This was not the first time Roel had witnessed the Black Moon descending from the sky, but it still left him distraught nevertheless. Even Carolyn was taken aback as well.

“Is this the legendary Moon Calamity? I never thought I would ever witness it in person.”

Sensing the danger from the sky, Carolyn’s face turned grim as a humongous humanoid silhouette appeared above her.

“Lord Brother, you mustn’t get close to the Black Moon,” Alicia warned Roel as she glanced at the fighting dragon and giant.

She began to channel her mana, and the darkness of the Black Moon further condensed like the bottomless abyss. Hundreds of black hands shot out from within, whizzing past the sky and the ocean like arrows at Carolyn.

Carolyn quickly raised her hand, and the barely visible silhouette moved along with her.

Much to Roel’s surprise, the fiend titan’s body began contracting. Specks of its light seeped into Carolyn’s body, as its main body dived into her shadow, fusing as one with her.

Is she… fusing with her ancient god? Roel had an ominous premonition.

It was around then that the hundreds of black hands from the sky finally arrived before Carolyn.

The Black Moon represented judgment and enforcement. Not even gods could defy its power. Yet, when the black hands reached for Carolyn, she didn’t lose any of her powers at all. Instead, she even hurled her fist and retaliated.

An almost imperceptible silhouette could be seen moving along with Carolyn’s fist, smashing the hundreds of black hands into bits.

Roel was flabbergasted. Alicia also frowned as she realized something.

“That silhouette is…”

The two of them knew that it was the fiend titan’s doing.

The Black Moon was invincible because it represented Sia’s judgment, but the judgment came with a condition. It only worked on beings who had submitted to Sia’s rule.

The Titans were a flawed race that Sia had exiled in the ancient era. They didn’t submit to Sia’s laws, so they were less affected by the Black Moon’s restraints. Nevertheless, there was a limit to how far the Titan could resist the Black Moon. Even if they didn’t submit to Sia, they were still Her creation.

Even though the fiend titan could smash the black hands, its light was gradually dimming, and Carolyn’s own mana turned increasingly turbid, too. Sensing that, Alicia gritted her teeth and held on.

It became a battle of attrition.

Would Alicia first run out of power to maintain the Black Moon, or would Carolyn’s defenses crumble first? This was the key to victory.

As time passed, the tides of the battle looked to be in Alicia’s favor.

Carolyn showed signs of exhaustion from having to deal with the relentless attacks from the Black Moon, whereas Alicia was still coping well. This greatly boosted her confidence.

However, Roel started to frown. As he looked at the intense battle between Grandar and Spansderck, an ominous feeling welled in his heart.

Why didn’t the Saint Dragon help Carolyn? Is it her order?

Other than that, there was another issue that was looming in his heart.

Thus far, Carolyn had only revealed four ancient gods, the same number as Roel, but this didn’t make sense, considering how she was previously far stronger than him. She should have been able to contract more ancient gods than him.

Supposing she does have a fifth ancient god, what reason does she have for not summoning it? Did the ancient god not possess the power to defy the Black Moon, or is she hatching some other scheme?

Meanwhile, Alicia could sense her mana swiftly depleting.

I don’t have much time left. I need to quickly end the battle.

Thus, she launched her decisive attack.

An intense light burst forth from her, and the winds from the Divine Domain abruptly changed. The Black Moon and the silver moon twirled together in a circle, as towering tsunamis and hundreds of black hands simultaneously charged at Carolyn.

The towering tsunami cast a shadow on Carolyn’s face, and the hundreds of black hands coming from all directions were nigh impossible to avoid. The fiend titan steadily weakened from fending off the black hands.

Yet, despite the desperate situation, Carolyn’s golden eyes suddenly lit up.

“Are you finally going all out?” Carolyn murmured as purple light burst forth from her.

Intricate patterns appeared beneath the ocean, then a woman with a human upper body and a fish tail emerged from a whirlpool and gazed at Alicia.

“That’s… a siren?!”

“This is bad!” Edavia exclaimed as soon as she saw Carolyn’s fifth ancient god. “Get that girl to stop right now. She mustn’t hear her voice!”

Before Roel could make a move, the beautiful siren parted her lips. What came out her mouth wasn’t a euphonious melody but a jarring shriek.

“AHHHHHHH!”

“!”

The siren’s ear-piercing shriek violently shook Roel’s soul. His mana ran amok, his consciousness fell into disarray, and even his blood nearly flowed in reverse.

Alicia froze up as if she had been struck by lightning, and she howled in agony.

The attack on her psyche and soul made her lose control of her powers. The tsunamis continued charging at Carolyn, but the black hands suddenly flowed in reverse. The Black Moon ran amok and began furiously absorbing all mana from the surroundings, including Alicia’s.

Roel bore the sharp pain in his soul and ordered, “Don’t worry about me, Edavia! Help Alicia instead!”

“All right!” Edavia rushed to the unconscious Alicia’s side to support her, but her face turned grim when she felt the latter’s shaken soul and consciousness. “This isn’t good. She won’t be able to maintain her Divine Domain.”

The Twin Moons in the sky darkened, and the Divine Domain started to collapse. The boundless ocean slowly faded away, and the hundred-meter-tall tsunamis vanished without a trace.

“You’re the first one to force me this far, but it’s a pity that woman is still wet around the ears,” Carolyn sneered as she stood before the collapsing Divine Domain. “Her instinctive dispelling of her Divine Domain saved her life for the time being, but this also means you have lost your only advantage over me. It’s over.”

“…Over? You’re wrong. I never intended for Alicia to defeat you,” Roel replied lividly.

He raised his head and revealed his golden eyes, which were blazing with fury. As if responding to his emotions, six massive silhouettes manifested behind him.

However, Carolyn was not intimidated.

“The Crown’s Stones might be powerful, but you forget that I’m from the Kingmaker Clan too.”

“Indeed, the Crown’s Stones are the powers Sia reserved for the Kingmaker, so you have some resistance against them… but what if everything is returned to its root?”

“What?”

Confusion flashed across Carolyn’s face, but her eyes soon widened in shock. Before her eyes, the six powers behind Roel converged to form a holy aura.
