My Goalkeeping System

Chapter 215 Struck Back

"What happened to your hair?" Mateo asked.

"I knew this was going to be a problem." She said.

"What happened?" Dave asked.

"Clark got me this new shampoo and I didn\'t know when it was a hair-darkening shampoo until I used it and it turned my hair into this." She explained.

"What are you two getting on her kneck for? Dark hair suits her fine." Emma said.

"I never said that it didn\'t suit her, the problem is that now there\'s no way to distinguish the both of you." The winger said.

"We\'re putting on different clothes," Emilia said.

"Hey, Dave! Mateo! Over here!" Minino yelled as he waved his hands to call the attention of the two.

"We have to go now," Dave said before turning his gaze to Mateo. "We\'ll see you guys later."

The warm-up carried on until the time hit 3:40 PM, which was when the players were asked to go down the tunnel and get ready for the match.

For this match, Unique FC were going to be putting on their black away jersey with orange polka dots and for Dave, it was the lemon green kit.

FC Barcelona were putting on their home jersey, the jersey with the blue and red design.

The players were all dressed now and ready to move out but before that, Norman had something that he wanted to say to them.

"Alright, boys, I know this is a tough match but we\'re also tough, they are strong but you all have to play with confidence that\'s the only way we can win, do you get that?"

"Yes." The players said in unison.

"Good, now let\'s go out there and show them what we can do!"

Applause resounded in the stadium as the players from both teams made their way to the pitch.

There were a lot of players there compared to the other matches they played but they weren\'t enough to fill the stadium up as there weren\'t many Unique FC fans there.

"This is going to be an interesting match, don\'t you think, Steve?" Jim said.

"Current European champions versus a team that seems to have shown what they can do in the friendlies they\'ve played so far, it\'s going to be an entertaining match but I think a lot of people are already saying they know which team is going to come out on top." Steve expressed.

"They may be right but sometimes things don\'t go as expected, Unique FC looks like a team that can give them a run for their money, and the fact that Norman is fielding his starting eleven goes a long way to tell us that he\'s taking this match seriously." Jim articulated.

"Yeah, but the Catalans have three of their deadliest forward on the pitch, they\'re taking it seriously too if you ask me," Steve said.

Lelemar was on the left, Vasquez in the striking position, and Ciro on the right, the only person from the starting eleven in the midfield was Andres Frednado but that wasn\'t a problem, the other two were also good enough.

Vasquez was standing over the ball now waiting for the referee\'s whistle and as soon as he heard it, he rolled the ball back to Frednado.

"And we are on the way," Jim said. "Let\'s see how Unique FC holds up against the masters of possession keeping.

The Catalans kicked off the game with their famous tiki-taka and no matter how hard Unique FC players chased the ball, they just couldn\'t get to it.

They were slowly moving toward their box now but they weren\'t hasty and would slowly move the ball back when Unique FC\'s box got stuck up, that was a tactic to draw out the defenders.

"Seven minutes already gone and FC Barcelona still have a hundred percent ball possession.

Frednado got hold of the ball and quickly drilled it to Ciro who moved a little closer to the box and just before Roland could get to him, he quickly sent the ball to Lelemar inside the box.

"What a pass from Ciro," Jim said.

The left winger broke free from Norman and got to the ball first.

With a single touch, he sent the ball flying toward the goalpost but Dave was quick enough to block it with his body.

"Oh, what a save from Dave but the rebound is still up for grabs!" Jim exclaimed.

The ball was sent rolling down the middle toward Vasquez and the striker didn\'t make any mistake to put it away right down the middle before Dave could get his hands on it.

"It\'s in! It\'s an early opener from the home side!" Jim exclaimed.

There wasn\'t much celebration of that goal, the striker just gave high fives to his teammates starting with Lelemar and Ciro.

"There was nothing Dave could do about that and now he has conceded his first open play goal since their pre-season tour and his third goal in six matches," Steve said.

"And now it\'s three." The goalkeeper muttered before slowly getting up from the floor.

The match kicked off again with the referee\'s whistle, Barcelona were pressing high against the Bilbeth Premier League side, but they were trying their best to keep hold of the ball.

Roland received the ball from Harry after the midfielder had almost lost the ball and just before Ciro could get to the left back, he sent the ball back to Dave.

Dave already knew what he was going to do with the ball before he got it.

Vasquez was quickly heading toward him now but he wasn\'t fazed and moved the ball a little to the right before he sent it flying to the other side.

Ferran jumped up way above Frednado and sent the ball flying toward Minino, the midfielder quickly raced down the wing with the ball before he drilled it low toward Fredinho.

"Looks like Unique FC are trying to hit back by all means possible here," Steve said.

The striker was being heavily marked so sending the ball to him was a mistake but just before the striker was brought down, he managed to tip the ball toward Mateo who was surprisingly free on the left.

The winger didn\'t even wait for the ball to touch the ground before he sent it flying toward the right side of the goalpost.

"Mateo!"

Frank dived toward the ball but it was just beyond his reach and ended up hitting the crossbar before falling into the goalpost.

"Unbelievable! He\'s sent it in!" Jim exclaimed as the winger quickly raced to the side.

Ferran chased him down and quickly brought him down before the rest of their teammates got to the area.

"The wonder kid strikes again! They\'re back in the game just three minutes after going behind!"

The fans were going wild with cheers now, that goal was one of the best they\'d seen so far from this team.

"They left him unmarked, it seems that they don\'t know how dangerous this guy is and he did well to punish them for that," Steve said.

"Mateo." Dave said before letting out a sigh of relief.
